On October 27, the European Chemicals Agency's (ECHA) Risk Assessment Committee (RAC) published its Opinion on Synthetic Amorphous Silica (SAS), proposing its classification as STOT RE 1 (Specific Target Organ Toxicity – Repeated Exposure Category 1; respiratory tract; inhalation).

In this context, ASASP, the Association of Synthetic Amorphous Silica Producers, a Sector Group of Cefic, is organising a webinar on 12 February 2026 (from 11:00 to 12:00 CET) to update the European industry associations of the SAS value chain on this regulatory development and ASASP's positions and actions.
