Organisation
The Association of Synthetic Amorphous Silica Producers (ASASP) is a sector group of Cefic, one of the leading European trade associations with offices in Brussels.
As a sector group, formed in 1992, ASASP provides a forum to address industry-wide questions arising during production-related activities as well as on scientific and regulatory matters related to synthetic amorphous silica.
ASASP is also part of the Particles Platform, an informal alliance of EU industry associations, across a broad range from chemicals to metals, dedicated to scientific understanding, exchange of information and exploring science-based practical solutions for regulatory and policy developments connected to materials in the form of particles.
ASASP has 9 member companies representing the majority of synthetic amorphous silica (SAS) producers in Europe.
ASASP aims to provide a platform for an open and constructive dialogue throughout the value chain, between manufacturers, downstream users and key regulators at European level.
ASASP works closely with leading scientists and academics to continually support research related to synthetic amorphous silica, its uses, health and safety.
ASASP cooperates with SASSI which is our US based sister association Synthetic Amorphous Silica | Sassi (sassiassociation.org).
